Understanding the Need to Know the Target Audience Within a PPV Network

A common mistake that almost every beginner to PPV marketing makes is that they assume that they're targeting the entire internet. Well, here's a newflash: You're not going to be targeting the entire internet with your advertisement. Instead, you're only really going to be targeting the people who are actually on whatever PPV network you may be using.

Try to keep this firmly in mind. If you're able to remember that your target audience is not the world at large, but rather simply the small percentage of it that is on your PPV network, you'll be less likely to make mistakes. Naturally, some mistakes are unavoidable, but when it comes to your target audience, you really can't afford to get it wrong.

So the big question that you should be wondering about is this: How can the target audience on a PPV network differ from the internet at large?

Here's how: Imagine how you normally would carry out keyword research for a certain topic. By using a keyword tool, you'd be able to determine just how popular a certain keyword is, and how much competition there is to it. Note however that in this case, 'popularity' is determined by the number of people searching for that keyword on a monthly basis.

When it comes to keywords for search engines, this is fine seeing as they are measuring popularity in terms of how popularly searched for a certain keyword is by the whole of the internet. For PPV networks however, this isn't the case. In fact, you could very well find that an immensely popular keyword on a search engine has almost zero popularity on a PPV network.

At the end of the day, it all ties into the demographics of your PPV network. Let's just assume that your PPV network consists of mostly people from 20 to 25. This would mean that any keywords applying to something that might interest people above the age of 50 or so would probably be extremely unpopular in the community.

As many markets have found, the demographics of a PPV network largely depends on how it was built. Chances are you can probably imagine that if a PPV network was built by offering a free game to download, your target audience would primarily consist of gamers, and so if you were targeting anything to do with games, you'd get a lot more traffic than if you were targeting something such as, for example, dentures.

Knowing the target audience within the PPV network that you're using is a major advantage, and it is one that you really can't afford to miss out on. Be sure to find out as much as you can about your target audience, because it will undoubtedly have a big effect on the success or failure of your PPV enterprise!
