An Introduction to Pay Per View (PPV) Advertising

With all the focus being on Pay Per Click advertising, Adsense, and so on -- few have ever actually really heard of PPV advertising. Of late though, there has been an increased awareness about PPV, and with it a lot of heads have turned as marketers start to profit from this relatively new form of online advertising.

Contrary to what many beginners belief, the Pay Per View nature of advertising does not mean that you're going to be paying every time someone views your advertisement. In fact -- you're not really going to have an advertisement at all. Instead, what you are going to be doing is paying every time someone views your website, CPA offer, landing page, or whatever else you determine!

Needless to say, this is very attractive indeed. And the best part is that all of the people who potentially will be viewing these advertisements consist of people who have agreed to do so. In other words, it's not just like random unsolicited pop-up advertisements -- no, it is far more effective than that.

Generally speaking, this type of advertising is carried out by adware. Chances are you've heard of adware before, and you've probably even devoted some time to removing as much of it from your PC as possible. However, unlike unsolicited adware distributions, the adware that is used by PPV networks is something that users have agreed to have on their PC.

As such, your website, CPA offer, landing page, and so on will be directly viewed by people who are willing to look at it. Of course, issues of targeting come into play and in order for your PPV advertisement to be effective you're going to need to target it at the right crowd of people. Still, you can expect to pay a lot less when bidding for PPV than you would pay for PPC.

Also, PPV can be made to convert extremely well indeed. Provided that you know how to use it, you'll find that you could join the ranks of marketers who are already enjoying it and hailing it as the soon-to-be-official successor to PPC advertising.

Right not, PPV advertising seems to be going from strength to strength. While no one can say for sure what the future holds for it, one thing is certain: It is an extremely lucrative opportunity and you shouldn't miss out on it. Now that you know the basics of PPV, you should be ready to head out there and start learning more and more about it!

Bear in mind that it is best to strike while the iron is hot, and this certainly holds true for PPV as much as it does for any other type of online (and offline!) marketing.
